Last night on A&E, we had the Season 7 finale of Gene Simmons Family Jewels. Three half-hour episodes were shown back-to-back, wrapping up the latest chapter for Gene and Shannon. In the first episode, Shannon and daughter Sophie pose for a sexy calendar to raise money for our war veterans while Gene disapproves until holding a concert of his own. Then we get a two-parter where Gene begins a tour in South America with a group of rockers from other bands, like Def Leopard, while Shannon worries about groupies. After the first concert in Buenos Aires, where Gene autographs a young woman′s butt, Shannon makes Gene sleep on the couch at their hotel room. Ouch!

This season proved to be a strange one as Gene and Shannon muddle their way through their new status of married life. The adoption saga dominated much of the episodes as the couple still attends therapy sessions with Dr. Ann Wexler. Last night, we got to see their son Nick have some therapy from Dr. Wexler, as questions are raised about how he treats women? Is Nick turning into another Gene? Like father like son?
The real action began during a ′greet and meet′ back-stage before the first All-Star Rocker concert in Buenos Aires. Gene and the other band members were being photographed with fans as things began to get wild. Shannon, watching from a distance, becomes very disturbed when she watches him autograph the butt of a young lass. She storms off and returns to the hotel, locking the bedroom door. When Gene finally rolls in, she tells him she left his stuff on the couch.
The next morning, Gene awakens to find no Shannon. Not good! Especially given that the band′s private jet is scheduled to depart early. Gene arrives at the airport and there is no sign of Shannon. The take off is delayed until she finally arrives, giving Gene the cold shoulder. On the ground in Lima, Peru, they have dinner together and Shannon spells out her disgust in plain language. Gene agrees to behave himself, but can he really?
So ends this season of Gene Simmons Family Jewels. With less than a year of legal marriage under their belts, Gene and Shannon still have a long way to go in defining their relationship. Now we have signs that their son, Nick, may be joining Gene in the dog house. Daughter Sophie is the most level-headed one of the bunch, but will she be able to survive the storms around her? These questions and more await us for next season.
